Wellbeing

Our free wellbeing service can provide you with mental health or wellbeing support. Our specialist practitioners include counsellors and mental health specialists.

You can meet with our practitioners to discuss concerns and explore solutions. They will help you develop your strengths, skills and resources to cope. To meet with a practitioner, you can either refer yourself for an appointment, or attend one of our daily drop-ins on our York Campus.

As well as meeting with our practitioners, you can access support through our 24/7 counselling and wellbeing service, Spectrum.Life. You can also access our range of self-help resources.

Welfare

Our Welfare Advisers are experienced members of staff who can provide guidance on practical welfare challenges you are facing. These challenges might include bullying and harassment, domestic violence, pregnancy, police or crime matters, or other issues having a serious impact on you or your studies.

The Welfare team also includes Sexual Violence Liaison Officers (SVLOs), who can provide support for students who have been impacted by sexual violence at any time in their lives.

You can book private appointments with our Welfare Advisers or SVLOs, on campus or online.

As well as our support appointments, you can access welfare training sessions and courses online, and report issues either anonymously or with contact details through our Report and Support platform.
