Exercise for Wellbeing

Our Exercise for Wellbeing pathway is a 6 week course of exercise classes aimed at reducing symptoms of depression.

From September we are offering a new Exercise for Wellbeing pathway.

There is strong evidence linking exercise to a reduction in symptoms of depression. We are offering the Exercise for Wellbeing pathway as an alternative to our 1 to 1 support.

This 6 week course of exercise classes is aimed at reducing symptoms of depression. The classes will be facilitated by trained fitness instructors from the YSJ Active team, with support from Mental Health Practitioners from the Wellbeing team. Start dates are staggered throughout the academic year.

You will be offered an assessment of your mental health prior to the class and a follow up appointment with a Mental Health Practitioner to consider next steps.

Classes will be held on our Lord Mayor's Walk campus.
