RaYDaR accessibility statement

Our accessibility statement for RaYDaR (Research at York St John Data Repository), the University’s open data repository service.

York St John University is committed to making RaYDaR accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

This accessibility statement applies to RaYDaR, a website hosted by Figshare and run for York St John University. It is designed to be used by as many people as possible. For example, you should be able to:

  • Navigate most of the public website using just a keyboard
  • Navigate most of the public website using speech recognition software
  • Use most of the public website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We've also made the website text and simple as possible to understand.

  • Resize text (Level AA): Most, but not all pages can be resized up to 200%.
  • Reflow (Level AA): Most, but not all pages meet the 400% zoom navigation standard.
  • Text spacing (Level AA): Text spacing can align with some custom stylesheets, but it may result in the loss of some content in places.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reason(s):

  • Timing adjustable (Level A): RaYDaR does not provide a timeout warning to users.
  • Non-text contrast (Level AA): The outline border of the website does not align with the 3:1 contrast ratio requirement.
  • Content on hover or focus (Level AA): Tooltips can be dismissed by an escape command but do not automatically close when moving the cursor away from the tooltip.
