Starting university is exciting and we want to make sure you have all the information you need before you arrive at our London Campus.

Students should try to arrive and get enrolled during Welcome Week (Monday 21 September to Thursday 24 September). However, if due to unforeseen circumstances you cannot attend Welcome Week there is still time to enrol and join as a student.

Enrolment must be completed by Monday 12 October 2026.

Before you start at our London Campus

We have provided you with a step-by-step guide on what you need to do before you start your studies at our London Campus. Visit our Before you start at our London Campus web page for a checklist on everything you need to do before arriving.

Enrolling as an international student

If you are an international student, the Visa and Compliance team will check that you have met all the right to study checks, which include:

  • Uploading your UKVI visa decision letter, passport page with entry stamp (or flight ticket and boarding pass if an entry stamp was not obtained).
  • Uploading your visa documents and E-Visa share code onto your CAS Shield account before visiting the campus.

Additionally, you must ensure that you have paid all relevant course fees before you visit the campus.

When you arrive at campus, you should bring your original boarding pass and luggage tags. If you cannot provide your original boarding pass or luggage tags, then please take a picture of them and bring that with you.

Check your contact details

Please add your current UK phone number to eVision. This information, alongside your UK address and personal email details, is an important UKVI sponsor compliance requirement.

To add your UK phone number:

  1. Log into eVision
  2. Check if there is an accurate, complete and up to date UK phone number listed in the ‘personal phone number’ field.
  3. If possible, update this field so that the number is in a format starting with a 0 rather than +44. This does not affect the validity of your phone number.

Once you are fully enrolled you can:

  • Receive your student ID card
  • Obtain official University letters
  • Create your student email address

You must have access (login details) to your CAS Shield when you visit campus for your enrolment.

Promoting a safe and respectful campus

Here at York St John University, we are committed to fostering a safe and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and respected.

To support this, we are providing a short online course called Consent Matters, an award-winning programme that helps students develop a positive consent culture on campus.

All new students have been auto-enrolled onto the course which you can access via Moodle.

If you are enrolled before or during the Enhanced Programme you can complete the course during your timetabled masterclass session. The masterclasses have been curated for this course to be taken in a safe and supportive environment. Please check your timetable to know when the masterclass takes place.

It is expected for all students to complete the course, however, if you wish to opt out of taking part in this course, please visit the Moodle page and complete the consent matters opt out form.

The deadline to complete this course is Monday 12 October 2026.

Academic Integrity

When studying at York St John, all students should be guided by the values of honesty and academic integrity. Students must commit to being honest and open in their work and their approach to assignments. This means:

A commitment to doing your own work

Crediting others for their contributions when you write about their ideas

Being transparent in your research and its findings

To support this, students can learn about academic integrity on our online Moodle course.

All new students are encouraged to complete the Academic Integrity Moodle course before teaching starts on Monday 12 October.
