Welcome to London Campus
Before you start at our London Campus
A step by step guide to what you need to do before you start your studies at our London Campus.
Checklist
Pay your remaining tuition fees
Paying your tuition fees on time is essential. We have a dedicated page with useful information about how to pay your tuition fee as an international student.
Secure your accommodation
It is essential that you arrange your accommodation yourself before you arrive in the UK.
It is likely that you will need to use a private accommodation provider. We recommend that you use a dedicated student accommodation provider, as these prices will include all bills and excellent services. You will also have an instant network of student friends.
If you are seeking cheaper accommodation, or family accommodation, always consider the cost of bills and commuting as this can push the price up significantly. Make sure you get an Assured Shorthold Tenancy or Lodger Agreement in place and read the Agreement carefully. Once you have signed the contract, it is legally binding.
Further information on accommodation can be found in our guide: London Accommodation Guide (PDF, 2 MB)
You can find some helpful accommodation websites on our Study in London page.
Complete your enrolment
Once we confirm your offer, it's time to enrol. This tells us that you are coming, creates your IT account with us and forms the contract between us.
You can find out everything you need to know about enrolment and when you can expect to hear from us on our dedicated page.
Other ways you can prepare to start university
Our YSJ For You course
We have created an online course to help you prepare for joining us.
This online course will help you:
- Develop the digital skills to make the most of university learning
- Learn how to use module reading lists to find out what you will be studying
- Gain study skills like time management and note-taking
- Understand how to evaluate and use information effectively for your course
You can find out more about our online course and how to access it on our dedicated page.
Reading and tasks
Your academic tutors may ask you to do some tasks and reading before you start your course. If this is the case, we will send you an email with all the information you need. Once you've arrived, you will have access to our online reading list system. We don't recommend looking at this until you arrive, as lists are not finalised until early September.
The library has a digital first policy and will buy ebook versions of texts on your reading lists where they are available. If ebook versions are not available, the library will buy multiple copies of print versions of texts. Depending on your course, you may be expected to buy your own copy of books that you need to have access to throughout a given module. If you are asked to do this there may be second hand options available.
