Richard Crabtree
Senior Lecturer
I joined the ITT team at York St John University in September 2022. Prior to this I worked in primary schools across York and North Yorkshire for over 20 years, most recently as Head of School for a large Multi-Academy Trust in Scarborough.
My teaching career spans KS1 and KS2, both teaching and leading with relevant experience across most primary subjects. I have worked as part of school-to-school support teams aimed at developing teaching and learning in struggling schools and engaged in peer performance reviews of their educational offer working with senior leaders and governing bodies.
I am also a governor at a small North Yorkshire village school with responsibility for literacy and curriculum.

Teaching
I teach across the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, specialising in English and Physical Education. I am module director for the wider curriculum first year programme and in addition support both undergraduate and postgraduate students as an academic tutor.
