Verity Pratt
PhD Researcher
I completed a foundation degree (FdSc) in Sports Coaching and Fitness with a distinction in 2018. Following that, I completed an undergraduate degree in Physical Education and Sports Coaching (BSc) with a first Class honours at York St John University. I then completed a Masters in Research (MSc) under the School of Science, Technology and Health at York St John University, focusing on Perfectionism and Orthorexia in Exercisers (Sports Psychology).
I went straight on to undertaking a Ph.D. also at York St John University, under the School of Science, Technology and Health at York St John University, again focusing on Perfectionism and Orthorexia (Sports Psychology). I am an active member of the Motivation, Performance, and Wellbeing (MPaW) research group. Outside of university, I am a keen hiker and gym-goer and compete in bodybuilding.

Teaching
I assist in the delivery of Sports Psychology modules and I am working towards becoming a Fellow of Higher Education Academy (teaching and learning in higher education).
Research
My research focuses on the predictors, maintaining factors, and consequences of orthorexia in health and sport domains. I focus specifically on perfectionism and it's affect on orthorexia.
Professional Activities
I present annually at national and international conferences, and I am a member of professional bodies, such as The British Society for the Psychology of Individual Differences (BSPID).
