At the Communities Centre, we have a variety of rooms available for hire, including counselling rooms, meeting rooms, and a group room.
Room hire is available Monday to Wednesday from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm and Thursday to Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. We may also be able to facilitate bookings on weekends, please get in contact to enquire.
We offer a 15% discount for partner organisations, charities, and alumni.
Counselling rooms
Details
We have clean, comfortable, and confidential counselling rooms available for 2 to 4 people.
All rooms have large comfortable chairs, a small table, tissues, a clock, a desk and PC.
We also have two accessible counselling rooms on the ground floor, close to accessible toilets.
Counselling rooms are £20 per hour, or we provide a day rate at £100.
Group work room
Details
Our bright and beautiful group room has capacity for up to 25 people and the layout can be amended to suit your needs.
This room does have disabled access.
The group room is £40 per hour, or we provide a day rate at £170.
Meeting room
Details
Our comfortable meeting room has a boardroom style table seating up to 6 people (and additional chairs can be provided), and a soft seating area for an additional 4 people.
There is a large screen that laptops can be plugged into.
This room does not have disabled access.
The meeting room is £37 per hour, or we provide a day rate at £150.
How to find us
The York St John Communities Centre is located in the city of York, just a 20-minute walk from York train station. You can find us at 32-34 Clarence Street, York, YO31 7EW.
The entrance is via the rear, which backs onto the YSJ University campus. Follow the road into the University by 30 Clarence Street and turn left towards Brook Street.
The City of York Council car parks, Union Terrace and Lord Mayor's Walk, are available nearby.
