Conference themes and abstract submission guidance.
The York St John University London Campus Annual Research Conference provides an interdisciplinary platform for academics, professional services colleagues, practitioners, consultants, researchers, policymakers, industry professionals, external collaborators, and students from diverse disciplinary and professional backgrounds to present their research, engage in scholarly discussions, receive feedback, and build collaborative networks.
The conference aims to strengthen interdisciplinary research culture and knowledge exchange across areas, including public health, artificial intelligence, sustainability, education, business and management, professional practice, and digital innovation.
As global societies continue to face complex social, technological, environmental, and healthcare challenges, interdisciplinary collaboration has become increasingly important in generating innovative and sustainable solutions. This conference, therefore, provides a unique opportunity for participants to share research, professional practice, innovation, and emerging evidence addressing contemporary global issues.
Contributions are invited from all relevant disciplines and professional areas, including:
- Business and Management
- Computer and Data Science
- Global Public Health
- Education and Professional Practice
- Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation
- Sustainability and Climate Research
- Social Innovation and Inclusion
Postgraduate research students are especially encouraged to present their research proposals, literature reviews, dissertation findings, consultancy projects, and emerging research outputs within a supportive interdisciplinary environment.
Abstracts will be peer reviewed and evaluated based on originality, analytical depth, relevance, interdisciplinarity, and alignment with the conference themes and sessions. Poster presentations are welcomed.
The conference will be delivered in a hybrid format to support both in-person and virtual participation.

Notification of acceptance: 31 August 2026
Full-text and PowerPoint submission: 21 September 2026

Abstract submission guidelines
Abstract submissions should not exceed 250 words and must include:
- Background
- Methods
- Results
- Discussion and future implications
All submissions should clearly include:
- Title of the abstract
- Author(s) name(s)
- Institutional affiliation(s)
- Contact email address
- Between 3 and 5 keywords
Participants are required to select:
- Their preferred presentation format
- Conference track
- The most appropriate thematic session aligned with their abstract
Presentation formats include:
- Oral Presentation
- Poster Presentation
- Virtual Presentation
Abstract submissions are open to:
- Staff of York St John University
- Students of York St John University
- External participants and collaborators
All accepted presenters must register for the conference.
Notification of acceptance
Notification of accepted abstracts will be communicated following peer review by the conference scientific committee.
Abstracts will be evaluated based on:
- Originality
- Quality of research
- Analytical depth
- Interdisciplinarity
- Relevance to the conference theme
- Alignment with conference tracks and sessions
Depending on the number of submissions received, the conference committee reserves the right to reclassify some submissions into alternative presentation formats, including poster presentations.
All accepted abstracts will be published electronically as part of the conference proceedings and programme.
Virtual presentation
Participants will have the opportunity to present virtually, should they choose this option. Authors intending to present virtually should indicate this during abstract submission and conference registration.
The hybrid format is intended to support wider accessibility, international participation, and interdisciplinary collaboration across geographical boundaries.
