I am an HCPC registered and BPS chartered counselling psychologist, clinical and qualitative research supervisor. I joined York St John University in 2021 as a lecturer in counselling psychology, teaching on the BSc Psychology with Counselling and Doctorate of Counselling Psychology (DCounPsy) programmes. I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and the recruitment lead for the YSJ Counselling Psychology Doctorate (DCounPsy) programme. I am a pluralistic practitioner and educator, integrating CBT, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and humanistic and existential philosophy.

- PSY8112M: Psychological Interventions Over the Lifespan (First Year Doctorate)
I am also a BPS RAPPS registered clinical supervisor and facilitate a small trainee supervision group for the doctorate placement modules.
My research interests are in difference and diversity in psychotherapy, multicultural competence and social justice and I supervise doctorate trainee theses and third-year psychology undergraduate dissertations.
My thesis title was "British-Arab Client Experiences of Psychological Therapy: an Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis", which highlighted the unique cultural and relational dimensions of the therapeutic process.
