I started at York St John University as a lecturer practitioner in physiotherapy, continuing my clinical work in neurological rehabilitation whilst continuing to develop academically. I became a full-time lecturer in advance of commencing doctoral-level study. My current teaching and support for learning is generally within the physiotherapy programmes at BSc (Hons) and pre-registration MSc level. I additionally support post-graduate Continuing Professional Development on falls management and supervise PhD-level study.
My main area of clinical interest is neurology, and my specific academic interest is in supporting students to transition well to higher education and to develop their research skills to promote evidence-based practice.
I am the level four (first year) co-ordinator. I lead the modules that develop personal and professional skills for both undergraduate and pre-registration MSc students. I additionally teach neurology, and research skills.
I teach across all levels of the undergraduate and pre-registration MSc programmes as well as postgraduate continuing professional development days on falls management.
