I am a public health professional with over a decade of experience in mixed-methods research. I started with a Bachelor's degree in Public Health from Purbanchal University, Nepal, in 2011. Eager to expand my horizons, I moved to the UK to earn a Master's in International Public Health from Liverpool John Moore's University in 2016. Most recently, in 2025, I was awarded a PhD for my research exploring how men's international labor migration affects the health and relationships of their wives who remain behind in Nepal by the University of Huddersfield.

I am a Lecturer at York St John University, where I contribute to the MSc Global Healthcare Management and MSc Public Health programmes. I am also the Deputy Programme Director for the MSc Global Healthcare Management programme. I have been teaching at YSJ since October 2024. During my PhD studies, I gained extensive teaching experience, including delivering lectures, supervising students in group seminars, assessing and grading coursework, and mentoring students in MSc and BSc health-related courses.

Modules that I teach at York St John:

  • MSc Global Healthcare Management: Understanding Healthcare Research; Digital Health; Understanding Policy and Strategy; Applied Research Project
  • MSc Public Health: Applied Research Project

I bring over 12 years of experience in health research, with a primary focus on qualitative methodologies. My expertise includes a range of techniques such as focus groups, in-depth interviews, and creative elicitation methods, including social mapping, photovoice, and wealth-ranking exercises. I have contributed to approximately 20 qualitative research projects across eight institutions in Nepal, the UK, and Thailand.

In addition to qualitative research, I have extensive experience in quantitative research, conducting advanced statistical analyses such as logistic and linear regression. My work also includes systematic literature reviews. I have led numerous research training sessions on topics such as coding and analysis in NVIVO, qualitative data collection methods, and research ethics.

Moreover, I have authored 15 research manuscripts published in peer-reviewed journals and presented findings at more than a dozen national and international conferences and seminars in Nepal, the UK, and Australia.

Recent publications

I have delivered presentations at national, international, and institutional conferences and actively contribute to the academic community by serving as a peer reviewer for esteemed research journals.
