Staff Profile

Antony Stones

Senior Lecturer

During my 10 years with Yorkshire Ambulance Service, I became one of the first paramedics in the country to follow a university training course and qualify with a foundation degree, this was followed with a BSc top-up course. I worked in a variety of urban and rural areas, both as part of a double crewed ambulance and as a solo responder, gaining a wide range of experience and knowledge.

I subsequently moved into primary care and trained as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, completing my MSc with a thesis reviewing the evidence for non-pharmacological means of addressing anxiety and depression, and became one of the first eight paramedics in the country to be registered as an independent prescriber.
