Staff Profile
Ellie Leonard
Lecturer in Nursing (Adult)
My name is Ellie Leonard and I am a registered adult nurse since 2017. Since graduating, I have specialised in Emergency medicine, and I am a sister in the Emergency Department.
This is my first time in an academic post, and I am excited to share my ongoing experiences as a registered nurse with our nursing students. Having paired my work within the Emergency Department with my role as a lecturer, I'm particularly experienced in giving emergency care and conscious of the patient's journey throughout their hospital stay. I can deliver my teaching with up to date, current, relevant and applied healthcare sector experience, which is of great benefit to the student experience.
I am thrilled to be working with the next generation of nurses here at York St John and passionate about using applied, active and participatory learning models and activities in my teaching
