Postgraduate Researcher

Staff profile image of Jeryl Shawn Tan

I am currently a postgraduate researcher at York St John University. My PhD project, which is supervised by Dr Andrew P. Hill and Dr Daniel J. Madigan, aims to understand how trait perfectionism interacts to predict coping strategies and wellbeing among Filipino university students.

Apart from my postgraduate work, I am a licensed psychologist in the Philippines and presently a senior lecturer from the Department of Psychology at the University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD), where I teach psychological statistics and experimental psychology to undergraduates. I also obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and my Master of Arts degree in Psychology at UPD.

My research interests include perfectionism, (self-)compassion, stress, coping strategies, and students’ psychological and academic needs.
