Hello, I'm Juliette! In 2022 I finished my undergraduate degree here at York St John, where I studied Drama: Education and Community. I have recently completed my MA in Education which allowed me to further explore my passion for equitable education.
I am passionate about working with people and using theatre and performance as a tool for learning. My undergraduate degree gave me the chance to work with a range of different community groups and help to improve access to theatre and the arts. I am enjoying using the skills from my degree in my role of Widening Participation Officer to work with people from a variety of backgrounds and give them the tools and information needed to help them to make informed decisions about their futures.
My role involves leading the Making Waves project which aims to address the unique barriers to HE faced by young people growing up along the North Yorkshire Coast. I am excited to be able to bring my own experiences of growing up in Scarborough and the research carried out through my MA to this project. I also provide support for prospective mature students through our bespoke events and Arrange a Chat initiative as well as working closely with schools and colleges in the local area. As part of the SRWP team, I assist with Open and Decision Days, as well as attending careers and HE fairs across the country. I am very passionate about York St John and enjoy sharing my own positive experiences with prospective students.
Outside of work, I enjoy musical theatre and have been involved with a number of arts projects with local theatre companies. I am happiest when outside and have recently found a passion for bird watching and wildlife photography.
