Staff Profile

Tiana Harper

PhD Researcher

Supervised by Professor Claire Hind and Professor Helen Minors, my PhD explores how embodied walking arts practice for women affects sense of self, imagination, memory and relationship with others/the environment.

I am a walking artist and Feldenkrais practitioner with a background as a performer and maker in theatre, music and the screen industries. An academic and programme leader, I have taught at conservatoires and universities across the UK as well as coaching private clients and facilitating on adult arts and holistic courses. I am currently programme head for Musical Theatre at the Royal Academy of Music and I am a Fellow of the HEA.

My walking arts practice invites women and those identifying as female to explore their embodied experience of walking arts via collective walking experiences that include propositions designed to enhance neurosomatic awareness, and invitations to respond to, and offer, playful interventions.
