I am a public policy researcher following a human-centred approach. Previously, I was a Research Associate (Cardiff University) and a Reader in Politics and Public Policy (De Montfort University). I also have experience of working in the charity and public sectors promoting human rights, environmental democracy and tackling inequalities. My overall experience has allowed me to build holistic linkages among theory, practice and impact.
Since 2019, my research has focused on the governance of service provision, particularly, how it has been shaped by different types of work (paid and unpaid) and the relationship that work has in building community and in developing social justice. Following action research methodologies, my research has been building relationships with VCSE partners in Barnsley Metropolitan Borough and, more generally, in South Yorkshire.
As a project manager at the Institute for Social Justice, I contribute at enhancing relationships of co-production between academics based in York St John University and organisations and groups in the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector in Yorkshire and the Humber area.
