- Standard visitor visa
- Visa and Compliance team campus locations
All students should note that you will not be enrolled onto your course (including getting your student ID card or other letters you may require from the University) until all the relevant documents have been provided and checked by the Visa and Compliance team and the relevant payment for your enrolment has been received.
Student route visa
From 15 July 2025, the UKVI are no longer issuing entry clearance vignettes for Student visas. Instead, students are now only issued with an eVisa.
Once your visa application has been approved, you will get an email from the UKVI informing you about your successful application. You will be required to open a UKVI account to access your eVisa. You will also be required to download a share code and provide it to the Visa and Compliance team to verify your immigration status.
Before you travel to the UK
- Open your UKVI account as soon as you get issued with your eVisa.
- Obtain your eVisa share code after you have opened your UKVI account.
- Upload the following documents onto your Enroly CAS Shield account:
- Your passport ID page
- Your eVisa share code
- Your UKVI decision letter/email
- Your entry clearance vignette (if you were issued with one)
- Ensure that you make plans to travel to the UK from the date stated on your eVisa. If you travel earlier than the date stated on your eVisa, you will be asked to return to your home country and return to the UK from the date stated on your eVisa.
After you arrive in the UK but before you arrive on campus
- Upload the following documents onto your Enroly CAS Shield account as soon as you arrive in the UK:
- Your passport entry stamp page you obtained at the UK border (if you were not issued with an entry clearance vignette)
- Your entry clearance vignette with a passport entry stamp (if you were issued with one)
- Your boarding pass if you either did not get a passport entry stamp or your entry clearance vignette was not stamped at the UK border
- Ensure that you have completed your eVision account with your UK term-time address and contact number. If you do not have a permanent UK term-time address or contact number yet, then please provide the details of the temporary term-time address and contact number you will be using in the meantime. You must then update your eVision account once you have your permanent term-time address and contact number.
You must also make sure that you have paid all the required course fees and completed your online enrolment.
Please note that if you were issued with a new passport between the time you submitted your visa application and the time you travelled to the UK, you must upload your new passport onto your Enroly CAS Shield account.
When you arrive on campus
After you have uploaded all your documents onto your Enroly CAS Shield account, updated your eVision account with your UK term-time address and contact number and paid all the required course fees, you must arrive on campus immediately after your arrival in the UK (and well before the latest enrolment date stated above). This is to ensure that you complete your right to study checks with the Visa and Compliance team, as well as your face-to-face enrolment with the Registry (Student Records) team. After you have completed both these steps, you will be issued with your student card.
You must bring the following with you to the campus:
- Your original passport
- Your boarding pass if you did not get a passport entry stamp at the UK border
- Your University username and password (please do not share your details with anyone. You will only need these details if you are required to log into your CAS Shield or e:Vision account to add or update any information during your enrolment)
- Your UK contact number and proof of your UK term-time address (if you have it)
