Fountains Learning Centre opening hours

The Fountains Learning Centre is open for browsing, borrowing, and study.

Our Library building opening hours are:

Standard opening hours

• Ground floor: Open 24 hours a day 7 days a week
• First floor: Open 6.00am to 11.59pm
• Second floor: Open 6.00am to 11.59pm

Assessment period opening hours

30 November to 31 January and 29 March to 13 June

Excluding the Christmas closure period

• Ground floor: Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
• First floor: Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
• Second floor: Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Library Advice Desk opening hours

The Library Advice team is available:

• Monday to Friday: 8.00am to 8.00pm
• Saturday and Sunday: Closed

The Library Advice team is not available on Bank Holidays and university closure days.

Accessing the building

A valid University staff, student, or library ID card is required to access the Fountains Learning Centre outside staffed hours.

From October 2026, your ID card will also be required to unlock the entrance doors and gain access to the building.

Please note:

• You will need your ID card to enter the building between 8.00pm and 8.00am.
• You will need your ID card to enter the building at weekends, even during the daytime.
• Please ensure you carry your ID card with you whenever you plan to use the Library.

London Campus library opening hours

London Campus library is open to staff and students for browsing, borrowing and study space throughout the campus. The library is located on Floor 3 of London Campus. The campus is open 8.30am to 8.00pm, Monday to Friday.

London Student Hub desk on Floor 3 is open Monday to Friday 9.00am to 6.00pm and provides you with support in all aspects of the campus, including the library and accessing support. It is closed on all bank holidays and University closure days.

Please be aware that a valid student or staff ID card will be needed to enter the building and to borrow library resources.

Library support services

Our specialist learning teams are available to help you Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm:

• Academic Liaison Librarians: Subject specific advice and support with library resources.
• Digital Trainers: Training and support with University software and systems, including assistive technology.
• Study Development Tutors: Support with study skills, including academic writing and maths. Tutors are also available on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and on Saturdays.
• Copyright: Guidance and advice on copyright and its relevance to you.

We also support you to access other specialist University learning teams including:

• London Learning and Wellness: London student support for study skills and English language skills.
• Insessional Language Support and Development: advice and resources to support students with English as an additional language in approaching your course tasks and managing lectures, seminars, writing and reading in English.
