Callum Glenn

Casual Academic, Postgraduate Researcher

I am a Casual Academic and Postgraduate Researcher in Psychology. My background is in cognitive psychology and psychological research methods. Currently my research is focused on cognitive processes underpinning individual differences when experiencing immersive virtual environments (aka Virtual Reality). Specifically I am investigating multisensory integration and its relationship with spatial presence in VR (the feeling of 'being there').

Research

My research is primarily focused on the cognitive factors underpinning individual experiences of spatial presence when using Head-Mounted Displays (HMD) to explore immersive virtual environments (VR). My specific interest in this field is how individuals combine multisensory information in the real world, and how they adjust their binding window when they are in virtual reality.

In addition to investigating spatial presence, I also have an interest in the applications of virtual reality. Specifically the ability to implement effective learning environments in VR which have potential to transfer knowledge to real world situations.
