Catherine Samiei

I joined CYPE in 2012. Following completion of a MA and PhD at the University of Aberdeen, my professional career has involved working in a variety of different roles in Higher Education. This has included teaching English Literature at the University of Aberdeen and York St John University. I have also worked at The Robert Gordon University, Leeds Metropolitan University and York St John University to support and develop the academic literacies of students.

More recently, I have worked as a Visiting Lecturer on the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PCAP) delivered to staff at the University of Bahrain as well as leading sessions on the York St John University Programme.

In my current role at York St John University, I teach on the undergraduate Education Studies Programme and continue to contribute to the postgraduate PCAP programme.

Currently, I am co-leading the York St John University, Higher Education Academy Project on Internationalisation to develop the academic literacies of both home and international students. I am also working on a Higher Education Academy Project to develop a student-edited academic journal for Education Studies.
