My teaching experience includes Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 and Early Years and I have worked in a number of schools within the north of England. During my teaching career I have been lucky enough to coordinate art, MFL and literacy and have worked closely with teaching schools to develop and deliver CPD.
I began working at York St John University in 2012 when I was seconded from one of our partnership schools. I currently teach across both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and teach English and professional modules. I am the course lead for the primary PGCE School Direct programme and work in partnership with several alliances within Yorkshire and the North East.

Further information
Teaching
I teach English to undergraduate and postgraduate student teachers. I also teach the professional and research modules within the primary PGCE School Direct programme.
Research
My current research interest focuses on developing a model to support schools with the contextualised teaching of grammar. I have worked with primary schools within our partnership to promote the link between grammar and confidence in writing and reading comprehension. I have also supported schools to support greater engagement with reading and have led parent workshops to facilitate this.
