Eleanor Burton

Academic Associate, Post Graduate Researcher

I have been an Academic Associate and Post Graduate Researcher in Psychology since September 2022.

Previously, I completed a BSc (Hons) in Psychology (2020) and an MSc in Clinical Applications of Psychology (2022) at the University of Hull.

Teaching

I teach on the following BSc Psychology modules:

  • Biological Bases of Behaviour
  • Exploring Social Psychology
  • Advanced Research Methods and Statistics

Research

 I am currently working towards a PhD under the supervision of Dr Jennifer Shevchenko and Dr Matthew Coxon. My research investigates the role of immersive technology on prospective cognition in depression. The first study of my PhD explored the effect of mental imagery on predictions of behavioural engagement in people experiencing dysphoria. My second study explores the effect of virtual reality on predictions of behavioural engagement in people experiencing dysphoria.
