Dr Jabir Alshehabi Al-Ani

My name is Jabir Alshehabi Al-Ani and I am a lecturer at York St John University, Data Science department. I have a PhD in computer science from the department of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering, University of Essex, UK. I have over 10 years knowledge in Machine Learning, AI, NLP, Data Retrieval, and Information Extraction both in academic and research environments, and industry.

My current teaching role is to deliver lectures in two courses: Machine Learning and Practice in Interdisciplinary Problem Solving (PIIPS).

I lectured for about seven years before in several subjects which are:

  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Data Mining
  • Data Analysis
  • Machine Learning
  • Introduction to Programming in Python
  • Introduction to Database
  • Information Retrieval
  • Natural Language Engineering
  • Computer Security
  • Digital Communications
  • Image Processing
  • Computer Graphics
  • Computer Architecture

My research interests are in several subjects which are Natural Language Processing, Image Processing, and interdisciplinary fields with AI (healthcare and sociology studies).
