I graduated with a BA in Jurisprudence from Oxford University in the 1980s and was a solicitor in private practice for 20 years before changing direction and using my professional skills and experience to teach Law at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

I have taught at York St John University since September 2020.

Teaching

I teach Land Law and Equity and Trusts at undergraduate level; and Property Law and Practice, Wills and Administration of Estates, and Solicitors' Accounts at postgraduate level.

I also enjoy guiding students through the process of applying for appropriate jobs: I assist with job searches; creating a CV and covering letter, and interview preparation.

Research

My interests lie in Knowledge Exchange: using my professional background, contacts, and knowledge of how solicitors' practices work to enhance the changes of employment and work experience for our students. I am interested in how to embed 'employability' into the law curriculum so as to engage students in the acquisition of these very important skills.
