Jennifer Adams

Jennie was the first member of her family to attend university and graduated from the University of Southampton with a first in Economics.

Her early career was spent within financial services where she worked for a number of leading financial institutions as an investment analyst and a fund manager specialising in the UK Equity market.

Jennie moved to Scarborough just over 20 years ago and, following a break to focus on her young family, she then embarked upon a career in corporate governance roles with an emphasis on addressing economic and health inequalities within Yorkshire and the Humber.

She is currently a director of Finance Yorkshire, which was formed in 2009 to create jobs in the region through investment in small and medium sized businesses. Jennie was also a non-executive director of York NHS Foundation Trust for 8 years.

She has recently been appointed to the governing body of the General Chiropractic Council as lay member. In her governance roles she has a particular interest in safety, risk management and equality and diversity.
