Postgraduate Researcher

I received my bachelor's degree in History at York St John, and in 2017 completed my MA in International History. In 2019 I began my PhD studies here.

Research

My research is aimed at providing a post-Cold War perspective on the initiation of Anglo-Soviet relations in the years following the Russian Revolution of 1917. There is a particular focus on economic and commercial factors, as the milestone event in this period was the signing of the 1921 Anglo-Soviet Trade Agreement. To this end, my research has looked into records of British government and business in the reaction to the Bolsheviks' seizure of power and the ensuing civil war in Russia.
