Dr Robert Sanders

I trained as a neuroscientist and gained his PhD from the MRC Neuropsychiatric  Genetics Unit at the University of Wales College of Medicine (now Cardiff University Medical School) in 2001. I have worked in a variety of health-related roles as a psychologist, including in the Neuropsychology unit at The Middlesex and University College Hospitals in London and in the Pain Clinic at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough. My research focuses on the neurobiological influences on mental health, specifically in high risk populations. Since joining York St John University, I have held various roles including Acting Associate Dean for Quality, Head of Psychology, and Sport in the previous Faculty of Health and Life Sciences and most recently as acting Head of School of Psychological and Social Sciences.
