Senior Lecturer; Programme Lead - Children, Young People and Families
I have over 30 years' experience in education. I have worked in 4 primary schools and 3 universities. I have a particular interest in supporting students from widening participation backgrounds having been a 'first in family' student myself.

Teaching
I teach on initial teacher education (ITE) and children, young people and education courses (CYPE).

- Mental Health and Wellbeing
- Trauma Informed Practice
- Critical Debates in SEND

I am currently conducting research in the following areas:
- Safeguarding and action learning sets in leadership development for a charity
- Academic tutoring and mental health literacy
- Academic tutoring practice
- Identity development for students on ITE undergraduate programmes in communities of practice
