Victoria Jones

I graduated with a BSc in Neuroscience from the University of Leeds in 2019 and completed my master's in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of York in 2022. I have conducted research in labs across Canada and the UK on various neuroscientific projects including on unconventional modes of signalling in synaptic plasticity and using fMRI to investigate prosopagnosia (face blindness). I also served on the committee of a science outreach organisation BrainReach Montreal, and have volunteered for educational charities to support young adults with academic writing.

Prior to my role within the Institute for Health and Care Improvement, I supported clinical trials related to surgery, anaesthetics and ICU in the research department at York Hospital. Having seen research from both pre-clinical and clinical perspectives, I hope to strengthen collaborations and support clinicians and allied health professionals to conduct academic research at the university. As manager of the institute, I will facilitate opportunities for researchers and projects that aim to improve health, wellbeing and care in the community.
