Students at a Shakespeare and Manga seminar.

As part of Welcome Week you are expected to attend induction sessions for your course.

Your course induction will take place on campus and it is important that you attend all the sessions on your timetable.

During your course induction you will:

  • Meet staff and other students from your course
  • Learn essential information about your course
  • Be able to ask questions about your course

Course induction timetables

Your induction timetable will show you the essential academic sessions you need to attend during Welcome Week. Some taught postgraduate courses may begin before Welcome Week. You will be contacted separately if your course has a different start date.

Where sessions have been split into groups, you will be told which group you are in by your course team. This will either be at your first welcome session, through Moodle or by email.

Find your course in the drop-down menu to see your induction timetable.

Personal academic timetables

Your personal academic timetable will start in week 1 of the semester and it will be available by the end of Welcome Week. You can view your personal academic timetable on the MyYSJ app.

If your personal academic timetable is not appearing at all or is only partly appearing, this could be due to factors relating to your enrolment. For example, your enrolment was completed late or your enrolment is not fully complete.

Once you are fully enrolled your timetable will show a mix of lectures, seminars, workshops and, where relevant, other practical activities.

If your timetable is not showing or appears incomplete, please submit an enquiry through the Student Hub online portal.
