York St John University Sports Park

York St John University Sports Park is located just 1 mile from our main campus in York city centre. It hosts a variety of sports and group or individual training areas.

The facilities available at the 57-acre sports park site include:

• 8 grass pitches
• 3 3G pitches
• Indoor Tennis Centre
• 3 outdoor tennis courts
• An indoor sports hall
• 100m sprint track
• Specialist strength and conditioning suites
• Cafe and social space

Booking facilities

We welcome clubs, societies, and public events at York St John University Sports Park.

To enquire about booking our facilities, you can fill out our short form, available to download below. Bookings should be made a minimum of 3 working days before the date and time required. Please note that booking forms do not guarantee the use of the facilities and we will contact you to discuss your booking.

If you would like to book the Indoor Tennis Centre or Outdoor Tennis Courts, please do this through the York St John University Tennis Centre website.

Opening times

Our Sports Park is open at the following times:

• Monday to Thursday: 8.00am to 10.00pm
• Friday: 8.00am to 9.00pm
• Saturday: 8.30am to 9.00pm
• Sunday: 8.00am to 9.00pm

The Sports Park will be closed in alignment with the University for a 2 week period over Christmas and on all Bank Holidays throughout the year.

Parking

This site uses ANPR parking enforcement. Please take a moment to read the information below and review the signage at the site.

Facility users at the York St John Sports Park are entitled to 4 hours free parking on site (including a parent bringing a child under 18) by entering their registration plate at the terminal on the reception desk. Evidence of being a facility user may be requested.

Spectators and any other vehicles can pay for parking by following the instructions on signs around the car park.

If you are a blue badge holder, please email details of your registration plate to estates.admin@yorksj.ac.uk to be added to the exemption list. If you have not done this by your visit, please enter your registration details at reception.

All bookings for our facilities are for 55 minutes hire. The following fees apply:
