Graduation is the time to celebrate your achievements with family, friends, and staff.

When you graduate from our York campus you get to celebrate this moment in one of York's most iconic buildings - York Minster. Soak up the atmosphere and share the moment with friends, family and staff who have supported you along the way. This is your day.

The graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2025 will be held at York Minster during the week starting on Monday 17 November 2025.

Graduation Guide and Programme 2025

Our Class of 2025 Graduation Guide provides everything you need to know about your upcoming graduation ceremony, including how to make your booking, what to do on the day and provides answers to frequently asked questions.

The 2025 Graduation Guide will be released in August 2025.

Visa support letters

It may be necessary for international graduands to request an invitation letter to support a visa application. Information regarding visiting visa support letters will be released alongside our graduation guide. Your invitation will confirm how you can request this letter.

Please note, we do not provide visa letters for family or friends. For policy and regulatory purposes, we are not able to name guests, only the graduate we hold a student ceremony record.

Award certificates

Your official award certificate and accompanying academic transcript will be available to you digitally through Gradintelligence following confirmation of your award at University Assessment Board. You will receive an email when these documents are ready to view.

All documents bear the signature of the University's Academic Registrar. These documents are tamper proof and can be shared with anyone you choose, as verification of your achievements.

Your award certificate will be presented to you at your graduation ceremony. Any student that graduates in absentia will have their certificate posted out to their confirmed home address, after the graduation ceremonies have taken place. If you have recently changed address please update this via the e:Vision homepage.
