HRH Prince El Hassan bin Talal

Of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan was awarded an Honorary Fellowship for his lifelong contribution to peace initiatives in the Middle East, humanitarian projects and inspirational leadership in interfaith dialogue. His Royal Highness has initiated, founded and is actively involved in a number of Jordanian and international institutes and committees. Prince El Hassan is the author of five books, which have been translated into several languages. He is a prolific contributor to newspapers, magazines and periodicals as well as regularly appearing on television.

Len Cruddas

Chief Executive of York & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce was awarded an Honorary Fellowship for his contribution to the City of York and to the profession of management. Len Cruddas originally qualified as a Physical Education Teacher and began his career in leisure management. After spells in leadership roles and as a self employed management consultant, Len joined Serco Services in the year 2000 and in 2002 took up the role of Chief Executive of the York and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, winning full accreditation from the British Chambers of Commerce as well as Investor in People accreditation and Customer First quality assurance recognition.

Kay Mellor

Author and screenwriter awarded Honorary Fellowship for her talent as a writer. Born and brought up in Leeds in the mid fifties by her mother. At 16 Kay married her husband Anthony and gave birth to two daughters. Having left school with no O-levels or A-levels, in order to raise her family, Kay returned to education in her twenties, first at Park Lane College and then studying a BA Hons degree in drama at Bretton Hall College, Leeds University. Kay began her career by forming the Yorkshire Theatre Company with two friends from Bretton Hall and began touring plays which Kay had written. This lead to years of writing and producing which created the award winning material which Kay writes for our screens. Kay now heads up her own company, Rollem Production Co.
