When you join us you will be allocated an academic tutor on arrival, for academic support throughout your exchange.
Modules and credits
You can see a full list of modules for Study Abroad and Exchange students in the module catalogue below. These modules are available for students arriving in 2020-21 and are subject to change for 2021-22.

You must choose your modules from the catalogue above. More detailed information for each module can be found on our online catalogue. Please note that not all modules on the online catalogue are available for incoming Study Abroad and Exchange students.
We operate a flexible modular structure which lets you choose the modules most suited to you and your course:
- A full time workload is 60 York St John University credits per semester
- Most modules are worth 10 or 20 credits.
60 York St John University credits per semester transfers to:
- 15 US credits
- 15 Canadian credits
- 48 Australian credits
- 16 Japanese credits
- 15 Korean credits
- 30 ECTS.

Teaching and assessment
You will study alongside our full degree students and complete the same assessments. These are usually written assignments or examinations.
An academic transcript of results will be sent to your home institution or you (if applicable) after your marks have been confirmed.
Academic calendar
Our academic calendar is split into 2 semesters:
- Semester 1 runs from September to January (or December if there is an overlap of semester dates with your home institution)
- Semester 2 runs from January to May.
We welcome students for semester 1, semester 2 or the full year.
