Entry requirements

Minimum entry requirements

Qualification Grade
Diploma / Ordinary Diploma Depending on individual institution grading system. Please send transcripts to africa@yorksj.ac.uk

If your highest level of qualification is the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), you will need to complete a recognised  foundation year.

If you have completed KCSE English a grade C or higher, you are not required to complete an English Language Test.

English Language requirements

If English is not your first language you must show evidence of your English language competence.

For most courses, you should have IELTS level 6.0 (with no skill below 5.5), or Kenyan Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) – English Grade C, or an equivalent qualification.

If you do not currently meet the English Language standard for your chosen course, we have a Presessional English course that can help you.

For some postgraduate courses, you need a degree in a related subject. You can check this on the individual course page.
