If you need a break from worrying, mindfulness can help. Join this guided meditation to practise staying in the present moment.

How mindfulness can help

Mindfulness is a non-religious mental exercise that you can carry to every part of your life. It helps you develop simple skills to cope with life’s difficulties by training you to focus on the present in an accepting, non-judgemental way. It helps you to see things more clearly, to manage challenges more wisely and to feel more content.

Attending a mindfulness group session

Mindfulness sessions take place on Wednesday during term time from 1.15pm to 1.45pm. They are open to everyone in the York St John University community.

Sessions take place in the Chapel and are run by our Chaplain, Jane Speck. Visit our Sacred Spaces page for more information on the Chapel.

All sessions are free and you do not need to book, just turn up and join in. You can try 1 session or come every week, it's up to you.
