Juniata College is a nationally ranked college, characterised by its strong and supportive community.
Juniata is in the safe town of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, a quiet and peaceful place, where you will have an authentic American experience in a friendly and active community. It is located on a train route that connects students with nearby cities, such as Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, making its way to New York.
Juniata has small classes, a challenging, flexible curriculum, collaborative student faculty relationships. The lively campus offers lots of student experiences and opportunities. Juniata College welcomes about 30 students each academic year from exchange partner institutions.
On campus, there is plenty to do, with a tradition once a year called 'Mountain Day'. Classes are cancelled and the student body heads to a state park for outdoor fun. On campus there are more than 100 student clubs and organisations to choose from.

Accommodation, costs and visas
Accommodation
Accommodation abroad
Whilst abroad, you are guaranteed accommodation, and will likely have to share a room.
The costs, based on 2024/25 academic year, are:
- Semester 1: £1937.50 (payable in October to York St John)
- Semester 2: £1937.50 (payable in January to York St John)

Meal-plan abroad
You will pay approximately between $2792 and $3053 per semester for meals. For more detailed information on meal plans, see the Juniata College website.
Please note you will need to pay for your meal plan at the start of your semester.
Accommodation in York
If you study abroad for 1 semester, you are guaranteed University accommodation for the semester you are in York. This is based on York St John dates.
Visas
Please make sure you have an up to date passport that expires no earlier than 6 months after you intend to return.
You will be provided with guidance and documentation from the partner university but it will be your responsibility to obtain the correct visa. Neither the Study Abroad team here or at the partner university are qualified to offer consultations or detailed advice regarding visa applications.
Immigration laws are complex and subject to frequent changes. So if you do have any visa-related questions you will need to contact the appropriate Embassy directly.
Approximate cost: $405 (plus cost of travel to US Embassy in London).

Costs of studying

- You will need to pay a refundable deposit of $250 at the time of application.
- Orientation fee: $100
- Meals: $3,300 per semester

- Insurance* – CHUBB Travel Sense: $614.35 per semester
