Miyazaki International College (MIC), founded in 1994, was established under the MIC credo, “Respect and Diligence” for the purpose of cultivating truly international individuals.
Miyazaki International College is sponsored by the Miyazaki Educational Institution (MEI), a chartered educational corporation established in 1939. As a liberal arts college, it is their mission to equip students with a wide range of knowledge, enable them to view issues from diverse perspectives and to cultivate the ability to comprehensively discover the most effective methods for solving problems.
MIC is located in Miyazaki City. It is 15 minutes by car to the airport, 20 minutes by car or 2 stations by train to the city centre.

Choosing your modules
You need to gain the following credits from your modules:
- 12 to 16 Japanese credits per semester
- 24 to 32 Japanese credits per year

The academic year is split into 2 semesters:
- Semester 1: Early October to late February (approximate dates)
- Semester 2: Early March to late July (approximate dates)

Visas
Please make sure you have an up to date passport that expires no earlier than 6 months after you intend to return.
You will be provided with guidance and documentation from the partner university but it will be your responsibility to obtain the correct visa. Neither the Study Abroad team here or at the partner university are qualified to offer consultations or detailed advice regarding visa applications. Immigration laws are complex and subject to frequent changes.

Costs of studying

Students are required to pay into:
- Japanese National Insurance - approximately 20,000 JPY per year
- Gakkensai (personal accident insurance) - approximately 1,000 JPY per year
- Futai-Gakuso (comprehensive insurance) - approximately 1,860 JPY per year
