Breda University of Applied Sciences is a medium-sized, government-funded higher education institute.
More than 7,000 Dutch and international students from over 100 countries study there. Founded in 1963, originally as a tourist officer school, it has over 33,000 graduates. The Games Design programme is one of the best in the world, and covers a variety of modules.
Breda is an old city, situated in the south of the Netherlands, close to the Belgian border. It has rail links to Amsterdam and Rotterdam in the north, and Antwerp and Brussels to the south.

Choosing your modules
You need to gain the following credits from your modules:
- 27 to 30 ECTS (European) credits per semester
- 54 to 60 ECTS (European) credits per year

Accommodation, costs and visas
Accommodation
Accommodation abroad
There is an arrangement with selected housing corporations that rooms will be available for exchange students.
The rooms are furnished and have fixed contract dates of one semester or one year. Once accepted for a study programme at Breda University of Applied Sciences, you will be provided with details where you can find and select a room.
Accommodation will cost approximately between 450 and 700 euros per month.

Accommodation in York
If you study abroad for 1 semester, you are guaranteed York St John University accommodation for the semester you are in York. This is based on York St John dates.
Visas
Please make sure you have an up to date passport that expires no earlier than 6 months after you intend to return.
You will be provided with guidance and documentation from the partner university. It will be your responsibility to obtain the correct visa.

Costs of studying

Students need a laptop capable of running the latest 3D software and game engine. It will need to have an i7 CPU with at least 32GB ram, 16BG video memory, with a 64-bit Windows operating system.
