I am a full time senior lecturer in Graphic Design and graduated as outstanding in 2014 with a PGCE practised in higher education and received fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.
I studied information graphics at Middlesex University achieving a BA Honours before undertaking a Masters in illustration at the Royal College of Art. Since this time I have worked in the creative industries for more than 20 years for book publishers including Random House, Dorling Kindersley and has worked for clients such as, Glaxosmithkline, Bayer, Coats, Standard Chartered Bank, Liverpool Football Club, Gala Coral, Freemantle Media, Transport for London, Nokia and Vodafone and many other internationally renowned businesses. I am also represented by a number of leading art and design agencies in London.
I encourage a multi-discipline approach to media technique in the classroom a reflection of my own industrial practice and experience and I'm always alert to changes in technology such as VR and AR, new working practices and am presently undertaking research interests in drawing and anthropology. The purpose of this is to examine the usefulness of drawing as a subject in both Art and Design and STEM classrooms. I was awarded best newcomer for the Association of Illustrators New Blood and nominated for best non-fiction illustrator Rhone Poulenc award and have had my work featured in New Scientist, BBC’s Blue Peter and Nickelodeon and significant commercial work published by Random House, Dorling Kindersley and Marshall Cavendish.
