I have been teaching in Further and Higher Education and delivering educational programmes in museum and gallery contexts for many years and am passionate about the role that creativity has within communities.
I have played an active role in community projects such ‘The Prison Drawing Project’ and curated exhibitions exploring the role of Drawing. Other events include ‘Making a Mark’, Big Draw, Scarborough Art Gallery (2010, 2011 and 2012) and ‘The Big Draw Event’ at South Square Gallery Bradford (2015).

Research
I investigate and explore the domestic world which includes its narratives, characters and visual ephemera relating to historical and contemporary culture. My work draws upon a diverse range of influences including Folk art, Outsider Art, Children’s Drawings and Contemporary Painting and Drawing.

In 2015 I initiated a Drawing collective ‘To Draw is to be Human’ which involves five Yorkshire based artists who explore and challenge the possibilities of Drawing within their practice. I organised and curated exhibitions involving the work of these artists and have since curated other drawing exhibitions such as ‘State of Line’ at The Artworks, Halifax.
