Dr Matthew Smith

In 2016 I completed a visualisation and GIS based PhD involving the recreation of a historic site. I also hold a BSc in Archaeology and a MA in Landscape Archaeology and Geomatics. All listed qualifications involved the advanced usage of GIS and various geospatial techniques, including remote sensing, satellite imagery, and GPS.

I have also held the position of Graduate Teaching Assistant, lecturing and demonstrating the use of GIS to an array of students, and assisting colleagues from a number of different fields within the department. This assistance included tuition in the use of the software (including GIS modelling, spatial analysis, coding in Python, and spatial databases), obtaining relevant data, and the preparation and output of maps.
