Ruth Wanless

I joined the ITE team in February 2024 following a 21-year career in primary education. Over those years, I taught across the primary phase and led a range of subjects, including leading English for 14 years. I was Deputy Headteacher of a large primary school for 11 years before becoming Headteacher of a one-form entry primary school. I have a passion for the arts and developing teachers, and I hope to focus my research in these areas.

I am a governor for a federation of schools in North Yorkshire and I am also on the board of a newly formed charity in Ryedale looking to support children's mental health and wellbeing.
