Postgraduate applications are made directly to the University. This guide will help you on your path to postgraduate study at York St John University.
How to apply
Making your application
You'll find links to the application form on your chosen course page. To complete the forms you will need:
- Details of your qualifications
- Your employment and work experience history, where relevant
- A personal statement
- Contact details for your referees
- For some taught courses you may need to submit additional material such as a portfolio
Once you submit your application it will be reviewed by the Admissions team. If we require any further information we will contact you by email.
The results of your application will be sent to you by email. This will include any conditions that we require you to meet as part of your offer. For example, you may be invited to an interview.
Depending on the course you are applying for you should receive a response within 6 weeks. If you are concerned about the progress of your application, please contact our Admissions team.
We require certificates of your completed qualifications to ensure that you meet our entry requirements. For postgraduate taught degrees we require your degree certificate and transcript.
If you are still in the process of completing any qualifications, you must provide a transcript of all completed modules and those you are yet to complete. Once you have completed your qualification we will need to receive a copy of your final certificate.
All certificates provided must be in colour. We can accept photocopies, scans and clear quality photographs sent by email. Alternatively you can post your certificates or bring them to campus for us to scan during working hours. Find the reception on our campus map.
