Events Access and Inclusivity
At York St John University we are committed to making our events as welcoming and inclusive for as many people as possible.

If you are planning to attend one of our events and have specific access requirements, please contact us at E: events@yorksj.ac.uk or T: 01904 876654 and we will make every effort to accommodate you. If you need a suitable seat reserved for you (and companions), please let us know, preferably at least one week before the event.

Parking on our Lord Mayors Walk campus is available for visitors with a Blue Badge only. In order to be put on the campus permit list, Blue Badge holders need to contact the Events team. Once you are on the campus permit list, it will allow you to park, but it does not guarantee a space for you.
There are also accessible bays for Blue Badge holders at Union Terrace Car Park, which is a short distance from our Lord Mayors Walk Campus. Other free, off-campus, Blue Badge parking is available at Monk Bar Car Park and on Garden Street.
All buildings used for University events are wheelchair accessible. If you require a wheelchair space then please contact events@yorksj.ac.uk to advise of your requirements.
Assistance dogs are welcome. Find further information about bringing an assistance dog.
If you require a hearing loop for an event that is taking place on campus then please let us know as soon as possible so that we can make appropriate arrangements.
Sign language interpreters and live captioning may be requested in advance for both in person and online events. Please contact us as soon as possible (ideally at least 3 weeks before the date of the event) if you require either BSL interpretation or captioning. We will try our best but cannot guarantee provision.
All University buildings have a gender neutral, accessible toilet on each floor. Additional gender-neutral toilets are situated at the back of the dining room in Holgate.
There is a private room for breastfeeding and nappy changing in Holgate. A key for this space can be obtained from the University reception during office hours.
