Dr Daniel Glassbrook

I am passionate about sports performance, and research in biomechanics and sports science. I completed both my undergraduate and masters’ degrees at The Auckland University of Technology in Auckland, New Zealand. I then moved to Australia, and in early 2021 was awarded my PhD from Macquarie University in Sydney, where my research focused on the use of wearable technology such as GPS and inertial measurement units to measure and understand the running demands of professional rugby league match-play, so that this information could better inform practitioners and high-performance staff when making decisions around player-load. 

In the UK, prior to joining York St John University as a Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Science, I have worked as the First Team Sports Scientist for the Newcastle Falcons in Premiership Rugby, and as a Postdoctoral Researcher in sports related concussion at Durham University.
