Returning to learning can be a great way to start a new career.

We offer courses in more than 30 subject areas, delivered by staff who are experts in their field. Most of our courses also offer work placements, giving you hands on experience and helping you to prepare for your next steps.

We know that you may not have traditional academic qualifications so we also look at your professional training and experience. Find out how this works and which courses are eligible: Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

Our course pages give you detailed information about course content and how we will teach you. Search our course list to find one that interests you.

Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) runs an Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme (ELC) to promote lifelong learning for members of the Armed Forces.

The scheme provides financial support for nationally recognised qualifications at Level 3 or above. Financial support is provided each year for a maximum of 3 separate financial years.

Some courses at York St John University are available through the ELC scheme. You can see a list of available courses on the ELC website.
