PAD: Participatory Enquiry, Action Research and Democratic Methodologies

Hosted by the Institute for Social Justice, this cross-school group will be a forum to discuss research and practice from a range of disciplines that locates itself within the venn diagram of participatory enquiry, action research and democratic methodologies.

It will be an opportunity to share practice and develop new collaborative research projects that seek to work with people in order to produce impactful research and innovative practice.

PAD will operate meet roughly twice a semester, mixing online Teams meetings with in person events.

PAD welcomes members and prospective doctoral researchers interested in participatory and democratic methodologies and action research.

Our interests are primarily defined by these methodologies approaches, rather than research theme or disciplinary context. The group aims to be a supportive environment in which to share methodological questions, works in progress, developing ideas and more.
